The Paradox Press is an independent publication launched in 2026 by Andrew Schmitt and Jack Jasper. The publication can be recognized by four fundamental characteristics, which are as follows.
Chestertonian
The title of The Paradox Press, and our approach as a publication, pays homage to the wise and witty Gilbert Keith Chesterton, also known as the Prince of Paradox. Chesterton was both a scholar and a journalist. He brought heady intellectual thought down to earth through his mastery of language and his unparalleled knowledge of history and philosophy. Chesterton believed that the Christian faith was, at its core, built upon a series of paradoxical truths that must be believed in faith. Paradoxes like God becoming man and dwelling among us, God loving the unlovable (humans), and the Christian virtue of hope – that we hope even when much is hopeless. We also believe in these paradoxical truths and will persist in spreading the truth of Paradox in a postmodern culture.
Christian
The Paradox Press is Christian. We believe in the Gospel of Jesus Christ and both the historical and theological implications of His life, death, and resurrection. And just so it's clear: we believe that Jesus was a real person who really existed in time and space and is both God and man and did atone for the sins of mankind. The word "Christian" is often falsely associated with many different worldly philosophies and ideologies—it's a word used to gain power when necessary for some and a word used as a doormat to be trampled for others. We reject both of those approaches. Along with being broadly Christian, we believe that the only acceptable approach to Christianity is confessional and credal. Non-denominational churches and church goers that have undergone the deconstruction of historical Church traditions have no influence on The Paradox Press. We invite all to read and hear what we have to say, but we do not concede to the false postmodern pluralistic ideology of modern western Non-denominationalists. The Paradox Press believes in theological accountability, not evasion and manipulation.
Conservative
At The Paradox Press we are unashamedly Conservative. This should be assumed in that we are Christian, but many in our modern time choose to associate Christianity with many different philosophical and political movements and worldviews. But in fact, Christianity is Conservative. To be Conservative is to preserve what is true, good, and beautiful. It is not to be a capitalist, libertarian, or a MAGA Republican. It's to be Christian and to be Christian is to be Conservative.
Comprehensive
Finally, we believe that Christianity and Conservatism is Comprehensive. That is that Christian faith governs all of one's life. We whole-heartedly reject the fallacy of compartmentalization—that a person can compartmentalize different areas of their life from one another. We believe that if Jesus is the Lord of your life, he must be the Lord of your politics, economics, health, philosophy, and everything else. We aim to help build out a comprehensive worldview for those who have escaped the postmodern prison of modern Western Christianity.
What do we plan on doing?
To begin, over the first 10 weeks of this publication, we are going to release a series of essays by some of the best writers and scholars in the world. People like Dr. Dale Ahlquist, the world leading scholar on G.K. Chesterton, Dr. Keith Campbell, a world leading Psychology professor who has studied narcissism, Dr. Mary Talley Bowden, a physician from Houston, TX who defied the tyrannical laws set forth during the COVID-19 pandemic and has since fought for health freedom in America, along with many other wonderful and insightful thinkers and scholars.
We're going to start slow. Meaning that each week we will release one essay and one podcast episode from the Orthodoxy Podcast. This content will all be absolutely free. And if you sign up, you will receive this content in your email the minute it's released. We are starting slow because we want to prove that our content is the best that Conservatism has to offer.
After the 10 week launch, we will enable subscription prices for those who are bought in to the vision we're setting forth. At that point, some content will be free and some will be behind a paywall.
So, what's your job?
Read, listen, and engage with the ideas we're putting forward. We would love to hear your input. And we would love for you to join the Paradox and help build a Conservative vision for the future of America.
