He is the creator and host of the EWTN television series, “The Apostle of Common Sense.” He is the author of eight books, the editor of sixteen more books, and Publisher of Gilbert magazine. He is the co-founder of the first Chesterton Academy, a classical Catholic high school in Hopkins, Minnesota, which gave birth to the growing Chesterton Schools Network that now includes over 70 schools in the U.S. and nine other countries.
In our interview, we discussed G.K. Chesterton's economic theory called localism. Dr. Ahlquist explains what localism is, why it's fundamentally different from Communism and Socialism, and why it's the most Christian of all economic theories. In this interview I talked with Dr. Heidi Klessig. Dr. Klessig attended medical school at UW-Madison, where she completed a residency program in anesthesiology. She was a founding partner of the Pain Clinic of Northwestern Wisconsin and instructed for the International Spinal Injection Society.
We discussed how the medical industry arbitrarily defines death as "brain death", who actually defines death, and if we should "pull the plug" on loved one's at the end of their life. Death is a serious topic and one that has been tyrannized by the medical industry over the past year – but the topic doesn't belong to those in ivory towers with degrees, it belongs to God.
